Doreen and Edith
To mark the start of Loneliness Awareness Week, we wanted to share a truly heartwarming moment that captures the essence of what Food Friends is all about.
Recently, our eldest Food Friend, Doreen - aged 98 - was introduced to the youngest member of our community, little Edith. Two generations, nearly a century apart, brought together at our summer celebration lunch. It was a gentle, joyful reminder of the power of connection and the beauty of community.
At Food Friends, we believe that no one should feel disconnected. Our meal-sharing initiative connects people who might never otherwise cross paths - building bridges between neighbours, generations, and experiences. Through food and friendship, we’re creating a network of support that helps everyone feel valued and seen.
